Police Officer Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident

A Huntsville police officer was severely injured in a two vehicle accident around 10:41pm near Memorial Parkway in Huntsville, AL on 9/21/12. The officer was responding to a call when another driver pulled out in front of him at an intersection. The accident report revealed that the other driver was arrested and charged with a DUI. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, most drivers with a high blood alcohol content are male between 25-35 years old and are 385x more likely to be involved in a deadly accident than sober drivers.
