Kenny was out for a ride on his Harley Davidson motorcycle when it happened; an SUV tried to beat the yellow light at a four-way intersection and turned into him. The other driver later claimed Kenny’s headlight was out, and that’s why she didn’t see him. In truth, she simply didn’t look twice before rushing into the intersection, hitting Kenny on his bike, and sending him sailing through the air.

Kenny was rushed to the hospital. The doctors weren’t sure if he would make it out alive.

Kenny’s Injuries Threaten His Future. Andy Citrin Fights to Protect It

At the hospital, it was clear that Kenny was in rough shape. Fortunately, he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, but he was still in a coma, suffered a punctured lung, was paralyzed from the waist down, and needed multiple surgeries to begin to repair the damage. However, Kenny was a fighter and defied the doctors’ expectations. He came out of the coma, survived the surgeries, and appeared to be healing. Still, the doctors gave him a 50% chance of survival.

Given this scary prognosis, Kenny knew he needed to act fast to protect his future. So, he called the Andy Citrin team to start the legal process as soon as possible; they needed to preserve the claim just in case Kenny didn’t make it through the night. The other thing Kenny decided to do was get married. With his life on the line, Kenny knew he wanted to spend the rest of it with his fiancée, Allison. She had been by his side from the moment he was brought into the hospital.

Andy Citrin agreed to make sure Kenny could have the future he wanted by fighting for his case and acting as their minister. A few weeks after nearly dying, Andy Citrin married Kenny and Allison in a bedside ceremony in USA Health University Hospital.

“Kenny and Allison are such a strong, loving couple,” Andy notes. “I always say that we treat our clients like family, and it was truly an honor to be a part of their wedding.”

The Andy Citrin Team Gets to Work Fighting for Kenny’s Right to Compensation

After the ceremony, Kenny’s condition began to stabilize. However, he was still in critical condition and remained in the hospital for about a month. Upon his release, Kenny had a hard time navigating his home in a wheelchair. It was clear that the accident would have a life-long impact—and that he deserved compensation.

Our team explored every recovery option that Kenny had available to him. Unfortunately, the at-fault driver had minimal insurance coverage. Kenny’s medical providers had also filed more than $200,000 in liens, which they wanted to be paid out of any settlement or jury award he received.

Kenny was a hardworking person who was injured through no fault of his own. He needed every penny to make his life comfortable and wheelchair accessible. We couldn’t let all of the money he deserved go towards paying for injuries that weren’t his fault. We went to work at once, demanding the highest insurance payment possible and negotiating his medical bill liens.

Kenny Takes Home the Money He Deserves

At Andy Citrin Injury Attorneys, we believe that injured people shouldn’t have to pay a dime for injuries that weren’t their fault. Kenny’s case embodied that belief, and we were determined to make sure he got the money he deserved after a terrible crash.

After months of hard work, we were successful. The insurance company agreed to pay Kenny close to the at-fault driver’s policy limits. We were also able to remove his medical bill liens, so Kenny could keep all the money from the insurance claim. Now, Kenny and his new bride could begin the rest of their lives together without having to worry about financial expenses.
