Summer Moody’s Parents File Wrongful Death Lawsuit

wrongful death lawsuit

The parents of Summer Moody filed a wrongful death lawsuit on Tuesday morning, seeking one million dollars for the death of their teenage daughter.

The claim alleges that Lonnie Davison, William Hearn and Larry Dean Duncan directly caused the death of their daughter on April 15th at a fishing camp on Gravine Island.

The three interrupted a burglary in progress, and Duncan fired a warning shot that hit Moody in the back of the head.

According to an article published on WRKG’s website, Moody’s parents are also holding the Alabama Marine Police responsible for their daughter’s death. They claim that a marine police officer told Davison, Hearn and Duncan if there was ever a problem on the island that they should take matters into their own hands due to the slow response time to the island.

When someone is killed through the actions of another, whether through negligence or malicious intent, it can be traumatic for all those involved. There is no greater tragedy than losing a loved one.
