Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash Kills One in Mobile

Multi-Vehicle Crash

Mobile Police are investigating a late night accident in the George Wallace tunnel that claimed the life of one person involved.

According to police, a motorcyclist was killed in a multi-vehicle accident around 12:15 a.m. on Saturday.

The accident involved the motorcycle, five dump trucks, one SUV and one pickup truck. Hazmat was called to the scene to clean up fuel that was spilled during the accident.

Given the huge size discrepancy between a large commercial vehicle and a motorcycle, these types of accidents tragically often result in fatality. Even if a motorcyclist has taken every safety precaution possible, the chances of them surviving a truck vs. motorcycle crash, especially one with multiple trucks, is very unlikely.
