AAA is forecasting that the number of travelers this week will break a decade-high number. This year, July 4th lands on a Wednesday, so the travel period for the holiday weekend is extended.
According to AAA, about 88 percent, or 35.5 million travelers, will be on the road during the extended holiday weekend. Alabama State Troopers plan to initiate a statewide traffic blitz at midnight on Wednesday, lasting through midnight Sunday.
State troopers will be on the look-out for distracted drivers and those who disobey traffic laws, such as failure to use a seatbelt, driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and speeding.
At the Citrin Law Firm, we urge all drivers to exercise extra caution while on the road during the July 4th holiday weekend. If you are involved in a Mobile car accident, contact our auto accident attorneys right away.
