Alan grew up in Mobile and graduated from Murphy High School. He attended the University of South Alabama where he obtained a degree in finance. He then received his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law where he was a senior editor of the Journal of the Legal Profession dedicated to the study of legal ethics.
After law school, Alan returned home to Mobile to clerk for the late Judge William H. “Bill” McDermott. He then practiced with an insurance defense firm for a short time before deciding that he wanted to represent people, not insurance companies. He has experience in criminal and probate matters, but most of his legal career has been dedicated to representing injured individuals and battling insurance companies on their behalf. Throughout his career, Alan has handled hundreds of personal injury claims from start to finish and successfully completed jury and bench trials, obtaining favorable verdicts for his clients.
Alan lives in Mobile and spends his free time enjoying the outdoors with friends and family. He volunteers with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of South Alabama and encourages others to support this organization.
